ReCoMaP sponsors 7 participants to Ocean Colour 2009 Africa

The bi-annual Ocean Colour Africa remote-sensing course began on Zanzibar on Monday October 12. The course is designed to provide the theoretical basis of ocean colour satellite measurements, as well as training on key applications for the monitoring and management of the coastal zone. ReCoMaP is sponsoring 7 participants in total: 2 from Madagascar, 1 from Seychelles, 2 from Tanzania and 2 from Kenya. The course, which lasts until October 23^rd, is being delivered by the Global Environment Monitoring Unit (GEM) of the Institute for Environment and Sustainability (IES) in association with the Institute of Marine Sciences of the University of Dar-es-Salaam.
